Here’s a webtipp that is worth a closer look. Literally :D
On the website about Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning there is a complete movie available for free download which has been produced by a main team of only 5 Finns as a hobby project.

The movie is really worth a look!




The whole thing is bottomline a very nicely made parody of the Star Trek and Babylon 5 universes. The protagonist is the commander and later emperor Pirk who is stranded in the past along with the rest of his crew. At first all of them stay hidden in respect of the first directive to prevent altering the timeline. But when the space program on earth is about to be chanceled unexpectedly it’s up to them to save the future of mankind…

The visual effects easily stand the comparison with the latest cine productions and that despite of the fact that the complete redering was done with standard PC hardware and as a blue background just a blue bed sheet was used ^^

Bottomline: Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning available for completely free download and really worth watching besides other things also because of its often refreshing unique humor. Even that the movie is only available in Finnish with English subtitles is no drawback in my opinion. Rather the opposite is the case ;)
